Initially representing Munster, it was his subsequent move to Connacht where he made his name. He spent three years at Connacht and was a fan favourite due to his try scoring exploits.
Moved to Leinster for the 2011-2012 season and won the Heineken Cup in his debut season. More honours were achieved with Leinster and Ireland in the following years.

A Munster and Limerick native, he is a huge fan of Hurling and Gaelic football. He won a Limerick senior football championship medal with Monaleen in 2005.
