Biography

Paddy Jackson is a promising up and coming fly-half who has the skills and ability to attack opposition defences.

The Irish international out-half was a stand-out player at Methodist College Belfast, and swiftly recruited to the Ulster Rugby Academy, during which time he captained the Irish U20s. As a teenager he made his Ulster senior competitive debut in a win over Scarlets, and a year later was the starting No.10 in the Heineken Cup Final at Twickenham against Leinster. In February 2013, he made his Irish debut in the Six Nations against Scotland.

A livewire, imaginative out-half he is pivotal to the ambitions of Ulster and Ireland.

While he made his debut for Ulster during the 2010-11 campaign, he really came to the fore in the 2011-12 season where he ousted experienced fly-half Ian Humphreys from the province’s first XV. It was a memorable season for Jackson with him playing a key role in Ulster’s path to the Heineken Cup final.
A lively and witty character, he often assumes the role as the team’s joker, fostering team spirit and boosting morale with his social media and video skills.

Paddy moved to France at the start of the 2018-2019 season to play for newly promoted TOP14 side Perpignan, then returned to the UK to play for London Irish at the start of the 2019-2020 season.

Paddy has won 23 Ireland caps to date, his all round game has improved dramatically following a series of impressive performances for club and country over recent months. Paddy has improved his game-management and is a threat in attack with natural pace and sharp distribution.

In May 2017, Paddy was named in the Ireland squad to tour Japan.

Paddy moved to France at the start of the 2018-2019 season to play for newly promoted TOP14 side Perpignan.
