Biography

Born in Samoa and securing a rugby scholarship at the age of 16 years, Malakai moved to NZ, hardly speaking a word of English and having no family members to support him. His rugby skills could speak for themselves, but learning to adjust to a whole new world in NZ, was one of the hardest things he’s ever had to do.

Malakai is a hard worker, he fights hard for his success. He has had to his whole life and has made him the man he is today. Malakai has a truly inspiring story to tell.

Malakai’s astonishing physique have earned him commercial demand and he has even appeared in the prestigious ESPN Body Issue alongside some of the Worlds best athletes.

Malakai is very active and appealing on social media and has a global follower base. Malakai is dedicated to nutrition, health, wellbeing. He loves to travel and has a very creative eye for detail which is reflected in his photography on social media. He can tell and story for a brand or product like no other rugby player in NZ and has a bit of a reputation for being a ground-breaking social media expert in rugby circles!
