Biography

Wales Captain Alun Wyn Jones exhibits all the attributes of a world-class rugby player both on and off the pitch. At 6’6″ and over 18 stone he is hugely powerful, but also athletic and arguably one of the best locks of his generation. His calibre was apparent from the off making his senior debut for Wales in 2006, he now has over 10 years’ international experience and an incredible 117 international Caps.

He was a member of the legendary Wales side that completed the Grand Slam in the 2008 Six Nations Championship, and went onto Captain the side the following year. Alun-Wyn has been a pivotal feature of the last two Lions tours and is looking like strong favourite to Captain the 2017 team who will tour New Zealand this year. Off the pitch he is one of the most eloquent and well-spoken individuals in the sport and it’ll come as no surprise to learn that he has a degree in law. You will not find a more passionate or loyal individual, he is a talisman for Welsh rugby and quite simply a legend in his home country.
